Dustin Harris
Dustin Harris is an artist and a professional deejay for over twenty years in Chicago. Originally from Evanston, he earned his BA at Columbia College Chicago, concentrating on sculpture and trombone. Following graduation, he played trombone and MCed in local bands Dinky Dog, Skapone, and Boogie Shoes, where he toured nationally and opened for artists such as Outkast, Fishbone, Kid Rock, Digital Underground, and Flock of Seagulls. Settling in Chicago after the band ended, he deepened his career as a deejay. Over the last twenty years he has deejayed almost every type of event from large formal weddings to small bars to outdoor skateboarding/snowboarding/ surfing competitions to underground Chicago house parties. As an artist, Dustin’s style focuses on graffiti-inspired painting and found object sculpture, as well as occasional installation and traditional canvases. He has exhibited in galleries around Chicago, and had commercial work commissioned by Red Bull, Etnies, and Boost Motorola.
Lea Pinsky
Lea Pinsky is a muralist, arts educator and program manager. She grew up in Evanston, and before settling in Chicago, she earned her BFA at NYU and acted on Broadway in the 1997 Tony-winning revival of Arthur Miller’s A View From the Bridge. In 1999, she returned to Chicago to pursue an MA in Performance Studies at Northwestern University, and began to transition her career towards arts education. Over the last 10 years in Chicago, she has founded, managed and taught youth arts programs with Columbia College Chicago, Urban Gateways, the City of Evanston, Chicago Humanities Festival, After School Matters, Steppenwolf Theatre, and Lifeline Theatre. She is a thrice recipient of the City of Chicago’s Neighborhood Arts Program grant in 2007 and 2008, and won a portrait contest for the city’s Public Art Program in an exhibition on the Wacker Drive River Walk. Currently, Lea is the Education and Outreach Director for Art Encounter in Evanston, IL.
